I just wanted to take a minute and wish Tess and Adam a Happy 1 Year Anniversary. They came back to the Vail Valley to celebrate. This wedding was a blast. I got to spend time with some of my very best friends and get some sun. The day of the wedding it stormed right up until the Minister said,'I now pronounce you man and wife'. The crazy weather made it an even more beautiful for a beach wedding. The sunset was amazing and the rainbow, a bonus. What a blessing.

Ok, so I have now officially been in the Vail Valley for 4 months. I love it! It has been a worl wind of events but I feel like things are going really well. I know that a relocation is going to be slow but I have taken so many necessary actions to put my business in place here in the Vail Valley. I feel like specializing in weddings in the Vail Valley is the perfect place for me. I already have an exciting summer booked. While I am still working on getting weddings here in the Vail Valley, I have 2 weddings booked in Cabo, Mexico, one in Nebraska and one in Florida. I think the idea of getting to be a Destination Wedding Photographer is actually going to work out. I am so excited about my business and look forward to what is in in store for it.

These guys had a shoot right before Christmas. It was crazy cold but the little man Ryan was really great. I love how they pop from the snowy white background. They really enjoyed the shoot and loved their images. Jessica ordered a small 8x8 style book for her family for Christmas. I am excited to add this product to my portrait menu.

We planned our picture perfect outdoor wedding in Colorado with mountains, wildflowers, family and our best friends on a beautiful ranch. Brooke did an amazing job with our engagement and wedding pictures! She made our engagement pictures fun! During the wedding Brooke made everyone feel comfortable while taking the pictures. That was important to me because everyone knows weddings our stressful. When I got the pictures back from the wedding I couldn’t have been happier. Our pictures were modern, fun, but yet still traditional. She found the most beautiful scenery to take most of our wedding pictures outside. We had a traditional wedding and did not see each other before the wedding and Brooke did so well at taking as many as she could before the wedding so that after the wedding we could take the main one and get back to our guests. Wedding pictures are something you will have forever and Brooke truly captured every moment that was special to be on my wedding day!

I just recently added a photographer to my 'Inspirations' section of my blog. Kelly Sarno is her name. She based out of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. We met when we both moved from several states away to attend photography school at CMC. I will never forget my first outing with Kelly, we headed to Grand Junction to a local camera store to buy supplies for school and out of no where, Kelly up and decide to purchase herself a new shinny camera. I knew that girl was determined from that day on. Oh, I do have to mention that oddly enough, the entire ride to GJ and back she didn't say a word and i thought to myself "How on earth are we going to be friends if I can't get this girl to talk to me?" I am very blessed to say that me and Kelly did end up very good friends. I was honored to work and study under her for a few years while I was in Colorado. She is a very talented photographer and friend. I encourage you to check out her site. She never stops amazing me in her photography and friendship!!

My kid-o's

Ok, so I realize in my profession I am continually meeting cute kids, but I have to say that my niece and nephews posted below take the cake!! While I was at home, I did a photo session with these guys and it went great. They all did a superb job for their Aunt Brooke. I have watched these guys grow into fine young ladies and gentlemen, I can't believe Lakyn, Beau, and Luke are this old, and yes I said that my nephews names are Beau and Luke!! There father Eric (my brother) was a huge Dukes of Hazard fan, but still claims to this day that he didn't mean to name his kids after the Dukes'. I am very proud of these guys and miss them tons!!

I know that i have said that I love to travel, especially for work, but this recent trip was doubly special because I got to return to my home state of Arkansas and see family and friends. I was so blessed to be apart of my dear old friend Elizabeth McClendon's special day. Elizabeth and I go way back and it was awesome to see her as a stunning bride and capture those special memories for her and Patrick. These are a few images from the wedding. It was a beautiful and fun event. I had the opportunity to see some many people I haven't seen since college and high school.

Kids on Location

These are from a shoot I did in Pelham, NY this week. I love photographing on location and getting to travel. Being able to use the inside and out side of my clients home, gives a wide variety of places to capture these images. It also makes it easier with kids when they are in their own environment. These guys are Beckett and Lola. Dressing children in basic clothing and colors will keep the images classic. My client, Kathleen, made the comment "These are the images that Lola and Beckett will look at to remember who they where as children".

Getting to know your clients

Recently I had the pleasure to spend a weekend photographing some clients. I believe it is important to establish a relationship with your clients prior to being a part of such a special day in their lives. Shooting their engagements allows me to get a feel of who they are and it gives them a chance to gain trust in me. Engagements are especially great for getting to know the groom and having him loosen up in front of the camera before the wedding day. As you can see Amber really enjoyed her bridal shoot. We where able to shot these on location at the farm where she works.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Please take time to read my biography and view a couple of sample layouts of a wedding album i just put together for a client. I recently had the privilege to go through the wonderful experience that you as a bride are about to embark on. I can say that it was an amazing, surreal, and crazy time in my life. To be honest, I wouldn't have any idea what things looked like at my wedding if I had not hired an amazing photographer. It is such an awesome day, that it is hard to take every thing in, even though you will spend the next 6 months to a year fretting over so many details. Having a sound photographer is honestly one of the most important things a bride and groom can choose. To put it straight, I have been there done that and now am even more understanding and excited about what a bride and groom are looking for on their big day.

Everyone in life has been given a talent, however, at an early age, I was blesses to find mine. With the ambition to attend and graduate with a degree in Professional Photography, I have been
thrilled to have used my gift and talent as my career for the past 10 years.

With so many fields in this industry, I wanted to explore as many as possible. In doing so I photographed for clients like: American Express, Paula Dean, Wal-Mart, and several more. Fine Art Photography has always been a passion of mine; having exhibits and shows in Colorado, Arkansas, Tennessee, and New York City. Recently I was honored to be apart of the International Film and Art Festival in New York City of 2007.

I soon found my true passion, photographing weddings. A wedding day is a surreal experience, an experience that shows the true joy of the human spirit. These emotions are what I strive to embody in my images.

Having the opportunity to photograph weddings at destinations like Colorado, Hawaii, Jamaica, Vermont and several more, I am continually growing my craft with creativity and confidence.
